George Rodrigue

Artist George Rodrigue of Blue Dog Fame Painting with Children

Artist George Rodrigue painted "live" with pre-school children on Thursday February 24, 2011.  Forum 35 co-presented the school with an Arts Closet Kit.

The George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts (GRFA) advocates the importance of the visual arts in the development of our youth, encourages the use of art within curriculums, despite continuing state and federal cutbacks.  Rodrigue's primary focus is to expose children to education in the visual arts in hopes of inspiring in others an early and on-going creative passion similar to his own.

GRFA gathers donations of art supplies and/or funds to purchase supplies as part of George's Arts Closet to help teachers with limited budgets teach art.  Some kits are custom designed by educational professionals.
