Our Program

Mrs. Patrice Hudson / Principal

Buchanan is a PreK - 5th grade elementary school
with an enrollment of 430 students (2011-2012). Buchanan's special programs are something to "roar" about: Accelerated Reader, BEST for Pre-K, Compass Learning, K-3 Initiative, RenzulliLearning, LSU field experience teachers, as well as a music, dance, and strings program.

Buchanan is also a Gifted/Scholastic Academy and Talented site. Special programs include: Gifted self-contained classrooms, Scholastic Academy classes, Talented Visual Art, Talented Music, and Talented Theatre.
