The comprehensive school counseling program incorporates testing/evaluation of students and implementation of services. Teachers and parents may refer students based on perceived deficits in academics or social skills.
Testing regarding IQ, Dyslexia, Attention Deficits, and Behavior concerns are valuable pieces of the puzzle in understanding one's performance. Outcome determines goals setting and aids in implementing appropriate accommodations. Researching one's history is critical in developing how academics will be driven.
As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, I encourage assessment as a part of the therapeutic process. Individual, small group, and family therapy may benefit the student's outcome.
We also introduce students to options for careers. The young mind is always at work, so why not discuss the broad possibilities available in our society?
I am here to serve you. Feel welcome to schedule a School Building Level Committee meeting to discuss any issues of which I may assist you.
