Uniform shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets will be available at Tara High School. Uniform pants are available at any uniform shop. Please do not buy oversized pants. They are not permitted.

Shirt

*Polo knit or long sleeve shirt with a collar

*Color is cardinal red or white with the official Tara High logo

*No pockets

*Shirts must be tucked in at all times

*White long or short sleeve T-shirts may be worn under white polo uniform shirts.  Cardinal red long or short sleeve T-shirts may be worn under cardinal red polo uniform shirts.

Pants

*Color is khaki

*Uniform-long pants (cannot be rolled up)

*Skirts must be no more than five inches above the back of the knee (including any slit)

*NO baggy pants, cargo pants, pants with rivets, biking shorts, shorts, stretch pants, leggings, sweat pants, overalls, or Capri pants

*All students must wear belts.  Belts will be brown, black, or burgundy, and plain with no ornamentation.

*Pants must be worn at the waist.

*Pants must be hemmed (no slits or ragged edges).

*Pants must be the appropriate size—not excessively loose

Exceptions

*JROTC uniforms are allowed during regular school hours, when directed to be worn by Senior Army Instructor

*Cheerleaders, dance team and pacesetters on game days

Outerwear

*Jackets are not to be worn in the classroom with the exception of the ones approved by the administration with the proper Tara High School logo.

*Sweatshirts-White or Cardinal red with official logo (no writing)

*Can be only worn over uniform shirt (collar must be visible)

*Caps hats or head coverings are not to be worn during the day inside the building.

Footwear

*Shoes must have closed toe and heel. Sneakers (must be tied), loafers, or lace up shoes are permitted.

*No slippers, platform slip-ons, sandals, or backless footwear of any kind is permitted (including ballerina type shoes with stones, beads, jewels, and/or sequins)

Accessories

*No visible body piercing (including tongue piercing) is allowed, except on the ears of females.

*Male students are not allowed to wear earrings of any kind, including studs or straws to preserve the pierced hole.  Band-Aids covering any of the above are also prohibited.

*Any hair coloring not adhering to school rules of propriety, as judged by an administrator, will not be allowed.

*Solid white or dark colored socks

*Placard type necklaces and earrings are prohibited (the types displaying names, photos, images, signs, and/or symbols)

*Oversized belt buckles are prohibited

 

ID Cards

*Must be worn whenever a student is on campus.

*Must be worn on the upper body (on a lanyard or clip)

*Any ID cards that are defaced must be replaced at the student’s expense.
