Baton Rouge, LA- A national education company has recognized an EBRPSS educator for her outstanding support of reading education.
Baton Rouge Magnet High School and its librarian, Betty Brackins, were awarded Reading Model Library by Renaissance Learning. Educators who receive this certification must show evidence that their practices encourage student access to a wide variety of books and self-directed learning. The librarian must also be actively working with individual students to meet Renaissance recommended standards for reading achievement.
In addition to this national honor, Brackins will receive a certificate in recognition of achievement, more opportunities for professional development and other benefits to share with faculty, staff and students at Baton Rouge Magnet High School.
“This educator’s commitment to reading and reading practice is commendable. The success Betty has achieved is a shining example of the difference librarians can make in their students’ lives,” said Judi Paul, Chairman at Renaissance Learning.
