As part of Baton Rouge Green Friday December 10, as hosted by the non-profit organization Baton Rouge Green, Belfair Montessori Magnet School students helped plant a tree on the campus lawn. Students pictured participating in the school tree planting are (at left, left to right): Tony Thibodeaux, Paris Robertson, Erik Calderon, Mallory Robinson and Kaya Niswonger.
Baton Rouge Green’s mission is to lead, educate and inspire the residents of the Greater Baton Rouge Area to plant, conserve and sustain our community's trees and green spaces.
The school also partnered with Baton Rouge Green to provide FREE trees to the Belfair neighborhood with plantings in the community that afternoon. Fliers were sent home with neighborhood students and throughout the community offering FREE trees to anyone who wanted them. BR Green provided the trees and planted them. Many of the people who participated are families of Belfair Montessori Magnet children.
