School Board Member Swearing In Ceremony Scheduled for January 2, 2011

Eleven Members of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board will be sworn in to office during a ceremony scheduled at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the Instructional Resource Center. Five new members will be sworn in for the 2011-2014 term. They include: Craig Freeman (District 6), Barbara Freiberg (District 7), Kenyetta Nelson-Smith (District 3), David Tatman (District 1) and Evelyn Ware-Jackson (District 5). They join the current School Board members: President Jerry Arbour (District 9), *Connie Bernard (District 8), Jill Dyason (District 10), Randy Lamana (District 11), Vereta Lee (District 2) and Vice-President Tarvald Smith (District 4). *Connie Bernard was sworn in November 4. The election of Board leadership will take place during a Special Board meeting scheduled immediately after the swearing-in ceremony. A reception honoring the new School Board members will follow.
