| BR Area Foundation Awards Grants to Two High Schools

Earlier this summer, Woodlawn High School and Glen Oaks High School were each awarded a $5,000 Baton Rouge Area Foundation grant sponsored by the Credit Bureau of Baton Rouge Foundation. The grants will be used to fund software licenses for the EverFi Financial Literacy Program. This online program employs the latest in new media technologies including 3-D gaming, adaptive pathing, messaging tools, animations and video.
Everfi’s Web-based curriculum is designed to actively engage students in real-life settings as they explore such topics as saving and budgeting, understanding a credit score, credit cards and managing debt and renting versus owning. Students who successfully complete the 10-course program become certified in hundreds of financial literacy topics.
