BRCVPA Holds Vocabulary Parade on Literacy Night - March 9, 2011
There was a student with a drawing of lips on a stick to depict the word “lipstick.”  Another wore a large empty bag of sugar to illustrate “sweet.”  Students of all grades dressed up to illustrate vocabulary words in late February as part of the Vocabulary Parade held during the Baton Rouge Center for Visual & Performing Art’s Literacy Night.  One of the top costume awards went to kindergartener Antoni Staszkiewicz (pictured), who illustrated the word “nerdy” with an outfit complete with pocket protector and tape on his glasses.
