BRCVPA Pre-K Students Pet Cows and Chicks During LSU AgMagic Field Trip April 22 - April 27, 2010

Pre-K students from teacher Laura Zaloudek’s class ran from one display to another giggling Thursday, April 22, barely able to contain their excitement during an AgMagic field trip at LSU.  Besides getting a close-up view of cows, butterflies and pigs, these Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts students also got to pet a few of the animals.  For instance, students (first photo, left to right) Tessa Gordon, Austin Wells and Javon Land enjoyed petting a lamb during the event.  Gordon (second photo) also joined others in holding and petting baby chicks, some of them only a few hours old.

Held at the LSU AgCenter’s Parker Coliseum, AgMagic took children and adults through a journey of Louisiana agriculture and economically beneficial commodities they use every day.  The experience was an interactive, visually stimulating environment that linked food and fiber products we use every day to the forests, field crops and livestock produced by Louisiana farmers, ranchers and forest landowners.
