| Crestworth Elementary Students "Catch a Good Book!"

Crestworth Elementary School kicked off its annual “Catch a Good Book!” program Friday, November 30, 2007. This is the fifth year the school has challenged students to read more books. Principal, Brenda Wilkinson challenged students to read 14,000 books over the next five months.
Special guests for the program were the Mayor-President Kip Holden and State Senator Sharon Weston Broome. Senator Broome spoke to students about reading and accomplishing goals. “There is no doubt in my mind that you will accomplish your goal of reading 14,000 books in five months. If you can believe in your heart, you can achieve it,” she said.
Mayor-President Holden encouraged all students to take time to read a good book. He promised a pizza party for the students if they meet their goal.
The Mayor-President Holden and Senator Broome also pledged new bicycles for the students that read the most books. |
