Cox Communications, adopter of South Boulevard Foreign Language Academic Immersion Magnet School, recently installed equipment for students to receive TV5 Monde’s French channel and its Spanish tier channels of language programs. Now teachers have a resource for current, authentic information in the French and Spanish languages. Students can watch language-specific educational programming plus current news and weather programs.
Jack Thibodeaux, fifth-grade French student (pictured, left), and James Villa, a fifth-grade Spanish student (right), presented Cherilani Perry (center left), Cox Communications Customer Relations specialist, and Ann Ruble (center right), Cox’s Public Affairs manager, with a thank-you card decorated and signed by every class at the school. The presentation was made at the school’s annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Program.
