Deputies Bring Law Lessons to EBR Acceleration Academy - September 25, 2009
Students in Jamari Tillman’s Criminal Justice class can’t be on the street with deputies to learn about law enforcement, so on Friday, September 18, the deputies came to them.  East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies with the Special Community Anti-Crime Team (SCAT) visited the East Baton Rouge Acceleration Academy to expand on research students are doing on careers in criminal justice.  At the end of the semester, students will submit a paper on their chosen career.  Answering students questions were (pictured, left to right) Dy. Courtney Robinson, Dy. Jaqueline Bailey, Dy. Dain Lewis, Dy. Nicholas Jobe and Lt. Malcolm Hall. The deputies talked to students about a typical day on the job and the equipment they use to serve warrants and detain suspects.  In addition, the deputies tried to direct students in making the “right choices” in life.
