Magic Comes Alive at Forest Heights Academy with ‘Seussical Jr.’ - May 12, 2009

If you like to sing or hear music galore, we’ve got a magical world to explore.  On May 13 and 14 at 6:30 p.m., children will perform … and you can see-em.  Forest Heights Academy of Excellence fifth grade will sing, kick, act and trade (lines, that is).

“Seussical Jr.” is the name of their skit, a magical musical place full of wit.  It’s wild and it’s wonderful based on Dr. Seuss books -- and cats, Things and Hoos get plenty of looks.  For adults it’s $5 and kids it’s just three, and those 4 and under attend totally free.  Join the crew this week at 7447 Sumrall Drive, and you’ll feel good that you are alive.  For both the young and the young at heart, you’ll get a seat early if you’re really smart.

PHOTOS:  At 9:30 a.m. both days, several schools will review the show at Forest Heights, and the event will be open to media for visuals.

NOTES:  Credits go to Principal Myra Varmall, drama instructor Kyle Lemaire, vocal music teacher Susan Chernetz, instrumental music teacher Jimmy Fleming, dance instructor Rebecca Acosta and art instructor Lauren Haddox.  The fifth-grade class production stars Breonna Johnson, A’sjah Edwards, Brianna Decuir, Emmanuel Dunn, Joseph Butler and Neterria Selvage.  For more information, call (225) 355-5681.
