Students used art to illustrate the importance of African Americans in pioneering various interests over several eras in the United States during Glen Oaks Park Elementary School’s Black History Art Project held in mid-February.

One of the most unique art projects was teacher Stephanie Taylor-Stell’s fourth-grade class’ work, which used decorated alphabet letters with collages of pictures to illustrate black history in America. While working on the project, they studied the famous African Americans they were depicting. This student art and many others were displayed at the school.
