Band members tooted their horns, dancers strutted their stuff and decorated cars and trucks three candy to children on Saturday, August 6, during Istrouma High School’s Back-to-School Community Parade and Fair. The school’s Dazzlin’ Dolls, including (first photo, left to right) Nakeitha Orange, Torion James and Torin Baxter, were all smiles as they danced through the parade route. The parade also featured special guests like East Baton Rouge Parish Councilwoman Denise Marcelle, district Superintendent John Dilworth, School Board members Barbara Freiberg (president) and Veretta Lee and school partners like Entergy. Afterwards, a fair was held at the school with booths sponsored by community groups and businesses, such as ExxonMobil.
