Kiwanis Club Members Donate Toiletries, Backpacks for Mohican Education Center Students in Need

When Delores Watts, principal of the Mohican Education Center, discovered some of her students were in need of basic toiletries and backpacks, she reached out to the Kiwanis Club of South Baton Rouge – and the members answered her call. The Kiwanis Club members, including President Clarissa Preston and C. Denise Marcelle, who also is city councilwoman of District 7, collected a number of items, like toothbrushes and soap, plus 30 backpacks, and donated them to the school at a recent club meeting. Watts accepted the items on behalf of students. |
