| LACUE Selects District Staff for Regional, State Awards

The Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators (LACUE) recently recognized two East Baton Rouge Parish School System employees. Kirk Guidry (left), director of Professional Development, is the Association’s Region 2 Leader of the Year and state Leader of the Year, and Destiny Adams Cooper (right), an English teacher at McKinley High School, was named Region 2 Secondary Teacher of the Year and state Secondary Teacher of the Year.
They received the awards at an LACUE convention held earlier this month at the downtown River Center. There were more than 2,600 Louisiana educators in attendance.
LACUE recognizes educators who have integrated the use of computers effectively into the educational process. The Association divides Louisiana into eight technology regions. There are seven categories for awards in each region. Nominees are educators who use computer-based technology in an innovative fashion or those who support the use of technology in the schools.
