Lanier Elementary Student Selected to Study in China
- Oct 25, 07

Kendell Hebert, a 5th grade student at Lanier Elementary School, has been selected to study in China during the summer of 2008. He was chosen by the People to People organization and will spend 17 days traveling through China.
He will have an opportunity to ride a rickshaw, learn Chinese cooking, kung fu and calligraphy. In addition, Kendell will travel to the Forbidden City, walk atop the Great Wall and unlock the mysteries of the 8,000 famous Terra Cotta Warriors, buried more than 2,000 years ago.
The People to People organization, founded in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, was developed to give American students the opportunity to develop personal exchanges and experience other cultures thoughout the world firsthand.
As Student Ambassadors and leaders travel under the banner of People to People, they represent the best of our country: hope, courage, openness and a love of peace.
