Progress Elementary Students Remember Heritage by Dressing as Famous African Americans - March 1, 2010

As part of Black History Month in February, some students at Progress Elementary School donned costumes to depict famous African Americans throughout history last Friday, February 26.  In Ruth Ross’ first-grade class, student Preilo Beverly (first photo) put on a bow tie and suit and carried an extra long handkerchief just like the trumpeter Louis Armstrong.  In addition, the first African American in space, Guion “Guy” Bluford, was the inspiration for student Daylon Moore’s outfit (second photo).
