With a ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 14, Southeast Middle School opened two centers to provide a space on campus for parents to meet with teachers; access computers, a fax machine and telephone; and get information about the school and other district and community services. “This is just another step to make our school a ‘community,’” said Principal Amber Renee Boyd. Participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony were (left to right): M.I. Thomas (school parent liaison), Marlon Cousin (Title I coordinator for Parental Involvement), David Tatman (District 1 School Board representative), Boyd, Nancy LeBlanc (Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) president), LaKeitha Johnson (parent) and Sheila Duplechain (PTO vice president). For more information, contact Boyd at (225) 753-5930 or aboyd@ebrschools.org.
