Principal, Deputy Get Close Shave After Testing at Southeast Middle - 04/27/2010
Hair today, gone tomorrow was the motto of Southeast Middle School Principal Hollis Milton Jr. on Monday, April 26.  That’s because it was time to pay up on a promise to his students.  Milton promised students that if they present every day for LEAP testing, their behavior was good and they put forth an effort when taking the test, he would shave the Saints fleur de lis emblem into his hair.  That’s just what Milton (first photo, sitting) did with the help of barber Richard Payne (left).  Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Glover (second photo, sitting), who sometimes is assigned to the school, also promised to have his head shaved.  For that job, Payne’s son, Richard Payne Jr. (right), did the job – with a little help from dad.  Payne has another son enrolled at the school.  In addition, students were entertained by Assistant Principal Paul Shelton, who dressed up as Elvis.
