Professional Organizations Recognize Communications Project, Staff - October 13, 2010

Professional organizations have been giving recognition to East Baton Rouge Parish School System recently for its marketing campaign “We’ll Make You Think” and Communications Department staff.

At the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) conference held September 28 in Baton Rouge, the school district's "We'll Make You Think" 2010 Marketing Campaign was honored with an SPRF Award of Excellence in the area of Reputation/Brand Management/Issues Management at the 2010 SPRF awards ceremony.

In addition, Sonya T. Gordon, APR, who serves as public information officer for the district, was recognized with the SPRF Senior Practitioner Designation.  The designation was established to honor members of SPRF who are recognized by their peers as veteran public relations professionals with high ethical standing.

The conference was sponsored by the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, where Chris Trahan, director for Communications & Community Engagement for the district,  and Gordon serve on the Board of Directors.
