With the new school year beginning on Friday, August 7, it is time to register for classes. All new and transferring students must register prior to the first day of school. If a child is not registered, he or she could possibly start the year with excessive unexcused absences, which will affect academic performance for the rest of the school year.

To register, simply go to the East Baton Rouge Parish School System’s Central Office located at 1050 S. Foster Drive.  You may also visit your nearest school, and the staff there can direct you to your home school where you should register.

The following documentation is needed to register:

• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Immunization Record
• Proof of Residence (i.e., a power bill, phone bill, etc.)
• Transcript from a Previous School (if transferring from out of parish)
