Superintendent’s Art Gallery Opens at EBRPSS Central Office - June 3, 2010

The inaugural exhibit of the Superintendent's Art Gallery opened last week for public viewing.  Located in the Central Office of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System (1050 S. Foster Dr.), the exhibit runs throughout all the main building’s hallways.  The visual arts exhibit of student work will be ongoing and is intended to be a reflection of not only our school community and the district but also the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Student artwork is sent in by art teachers throughout the district and juried by the School System’s Fine Arts Department.  The exhibit continually will evolve as the School System changes.  Superintendent John Dilworth (pictured, left) admired a charcoal drawing done by recent McKinley High School graduate Clare Carter (right).  Carter used an old Life magazine photo as a guide, and her artwork is the anchor piece of the exhibit.  For more information, contact Wayne Talbot at (225) 929-8769
