Superintendent Candidates Announced
- January 3, 2012

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board is pleased to announce the candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The Board, along with its search consultant, PROACT Search, recently concluded its work to recruit a very strong pool of 44 candidates. From this pool, the Board will be able to identify candidates to go through an extensive interview and research process. Based on that information, they will narrow down the list of candidates to be interviewed by the board. “This list represents great diversity, tremendous experience, and enormous potential for our school district,” said Barbara Freiberg, President of the Board. “We feel we have excellent candidates to lead the school system forward. From traditional superintendents to non-traditional leaders, these candidates have expressed an interest in working with our district and will be a great fit with the needs of our community.” PROACT Search CEO Gary Solomon was extremely pleased with the process and has “the utmost confidence that the School Board and community will be able to find the perfect match with these candidates. We’ve seen the enthusiasm that candidates have for the district and are optimistic that the best fit leader will be easily found.” PROACT Search spent several months doing in-direct advertisements, as well as direct email, phone and in-person recruitment. Candidates had very strong skill sets, and come from a unique set of backgrounds and experience levels as well as strong geographic diversity. The School Board has scheduled a Workshop at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5. At this time, members of PROACT Search will present the semifinalists. At the conclusion of this meeting, next steps in the process will be announced.
