VIPS Honors Outstanding Volunteers at the Annual Picnic

Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) honored school volunteers Tuesday, April 12, at the Volunteer Recognition Picnic and Apple Awards. School volunteers gathered at University Baptist Church for a jambalaya lunch followed by the Apple Award ceremony to recognize outstanding school volunteers.
 Golden Apple Award winners include Tammy Ziffer-Clarke, Riveroaks Elementary; Tommie Stout, Jr., Glen Oaks High; Abbey Gauthier, Baton Rouge Magnet High; and University Baptist Church, Highland Elementary.
Kristy Simmons of Central High received the 2005 Crystal Apple Award.
Eden Park Elementary was recognized for its enthusiasm to involve community members and parents in the school.
 In order to qualify for this distinction, schools must have all current volunteer hours reports submitted through the month of April.
VIPS thanks all volunteers and partners for their commitment to the children of East Baton Rouge public schools.
