Brainstorm with the class different words that begin with each letter of the alphabet. Assign a letter to each student and have them come up with words that begin with the letter they were assigned. (Ex. Parts of speech… nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.)

Read Across America Day- Happy 106th Birthday Dr. Seuss

“We Speak for the Earth”- (Dr. Seuss’ “The LORAX”)
Define terms recycle, reuse, reduce, and conservation. Brainstorm ways to preserve natural resources and our environment.

Oh the Places We’ll Go- (Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go”)
Ask students to create a list of places they would like to visit. Or some of their favorite places they like to visit. Extension: Have students make a list of events or things they would like to accomplish.
